Anglesea | Anglesea
The popular holiday destination of Anglesea is one of the larger coastal towns in the Surfcoast Shire.
It has much to offer with several beautiful beaches, a thriving retail precinct, a picturesque river and a high quality 18 hole golf course.
The town has approximately 2300 permanent residents and is very popular with both young families and retirees.
In the holiday season this population can swell to three times this figure with visitors sharing the wonderful beaches and foreshore areas with ease. The Anglesea Surf Life Saving Club patrols both the main surf beach and Point Roadknight beach in the warmer months. Point Roadknight is an extremely popular family beach and the right hand point break is very popular with surfers. It is regarded as one of the best learning waves in Australia for beginners.
The golf club is also very popular year round, famous for its large resident population of kangaroos.
Anglesea also has a great mountain bike park, motor bike tracks and roads for four wheel driving. Access from Melbourne is very easy via the Geelong Ring Road.
