Aireys Inlet | Aireys Inlet
Aireys Inlet is a town of stunning natural beauty much like most of Great Ocean Road. Home of the famous Split Point Lighthouse the town is completely landlocked by the Great Otway National Park.
The town has a permanent population of about 1200 and is a much loved holiday destination for Melbournians. Aireys Inlet has an underdeveloped feel which differentiates it from its neighbouring towns and is probably its most loved aspect.
It is well known for its music and art scene which draws visitors year round. An open mic festival is held each on the third weekend in March annually.
The Split Point Lighthouse is a feature on the sandstone cliffs, punctuated by sandy coves this provides stunning backdrops for any photos. The area is popular with surfers fisherman and bushwalkers.
Located about 90 minutes from the Melbourne CBD the town is easily accessed via the recently completed Geelong Ring Road.
